Archerfield is a residential suburb located in the southern part of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It is situated approximately 11 kilometers south of the Brisbane Central Business District.
The suburb is named after a local postmaster, Michael Archer, who held the position of postmaster at the nearby Rocklea Railway Station from 1876 to 1933.
Archerfield is known for its aviation history and is home to the Archerfield Airport, which was originally established as a Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) base during World War II. Today, the airport serves as a hub for general aviation, charter flights, and pilot training.
